Hundred more homes to be built in £360M regeneration project

North east Coventry to see hundreds more homes build in second phase of £360M regeneration project.

Plans for hundreds more homes to be built as part of thr £360M Spirit Quarters redevelopment has been given the green light.

The £360M Spirit Quarters redevelopment has already seen the building of 550 new homes and improvements made to 1,000 existing homes in Wood End, Deedmore, Henley Green and Manor Farm.

An additional 372 homes have been given approval by City Planners, and will be delivered over the next five years.

They will be available to buy and rent, with housing associating Whitefriars Housing owning and manage 68 of the properties at affordable rates.

Kevin Roach, Project Director for Spirit Quarters and director of regeneration at WM Housing Group, said:

“We are delighted that the next phase of this major redevelopment has been given the green light.

“These new homes and the start of the £10M improvements to homes and the environment on the Manor Farm estate will create a lasting legacy for the future, providing much-needed quality affordable homes for generations to come.”

Cllr Linda Bigham, cabinet member for community development said:

“I’m really pleased that the next stage in the redevelopment of this part of Coventry has got the go-ahead. “The area is being transformed and I’m delighted that local people have been at the heart of the changes.”

An affordable housing project on the site of an old Council Depot building on William Lewis Walk is on track to be finished by Summer, which will provide 35 much-needed homes to the area.
