Carbon Reduction Journey

Our aim is to become the sustainable supplier of choice for forward-thinking construction and fit-out contractors, like you. With our industry leading 3P sustainability strategy, we continually aim to work Smarter. Faster. Greener.™

Our tonnes of CO2 emissions per employee and per £M turnover have been reduced since our baseline year based on our ongoing 3P sustainability strategy action plan, which will continue to be our focus for reducing CO2 emissions as we move towards our long-term ambition of being Net Zero.

When we started our carbon reduction journey in 2019, Bryson became the industry’s first certified carbon negative supplier, offsetting more carbon than the remaining balance required.

Given the dynamic nature of net zero and carbon reporting, in 2023 we partnered with Planet Mark as our independent third party verification and certification partner.

Planet Mark’s process goes beyond data checking, providing a rigorous assurance framework that validates the accuracy of our emissions data, ensuring credibility and transparency.

The certification also requires organisations to commit to annual carbon reductions to drive continuous improvement. As part of this process, we have restated our baseline year to 2023, giving us a more robust and future proofed foundation for tracking and achieving our carbon reduction targets.

Partnering with Planet Mark means we’re supported, aligned, endorsed and verified.

 Our Carbon Reporting

As a business we recognise that every business must play its part in minimising the effects it has on the environment and reducing our carbon footprint. At Bryson, we’re proud to be on a journey of continuous improvement in how we measure, manage, and reduce our environmental impact.

Our Latest Carbon Report

Bryson measured our Carbon Footprint for the year ending 31st December 2024, with a total market-based carbon footprint of 324.4 tCO2e.

Carbon Neutral

As part of our commitment to minimising the impacts our operations have on the environment and reducing our carbon footprint we offset 100% of our emissions through the purchase of offsets through the Gold Standard initiative.

Offsetting is to take carbon from the air or prevent carbon from being emitted through alternate practices and is measured in the form of carbon credits. Each credit is generally equal to 1 metric tonne of CO2. Offsetting provides a mechanism to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the most cost-effective and economically-efficient manner. Offsetting plays a vital role in combating climate change, but done in isolation it is not the ultimate solution.

Since 2019 we have partnered with various international Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) initiatives to offset our emissions, including tree planting both in the UK planting over 200 trees in local habitats, ‘tree buddying’ initiatives supporting deforestation efforts in the Amazon rainforest, and renewable wind and solar energy projects in India

SDG Alignment

Through measurement, reporting and reducing our carbon footprint we are contributing to the delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations designed to address the world most urgent, social and economic challenges by 2030.

Since 2019 we have directly contributed to:

What Does It All Mean For You?

We're all working together to reduce our carbon footprint and achieve our green goals, all in line with the industry goal to be net zero by 2050. The construction industry has a big part to play being one of the largest contributors to CO2 emissions.

By choosing Bryson as your sustainable supplier of choice, we can help you be greener by working with you to reach your sustainability goals.

Bryson remains dedicated to being the top sustainable supplier through ongoing innovation and improvement in our products and services.
