Royal Elm Park, the £500m landmark development adjacent to Reading Football Club’s Madejski Stadium, has been approved by Reading Borough Council, subject to conditions.  The development will deliver a world-class convention centre, hundreds of new homes, significant new public space, an exciting mix of high-quality retail, leisure and hotel space, all of which will be supported by a substantial investment in public transport for both match and non-match day visitors.

British Land wants more retail and less office space once RBS departs Bishopsgate home

The landlord of RBS' 135 Bishopsgate home has submitted plans to revamp the building once the bank leaves.  British Land has put in a planning application to the City of London to overhaul the offices next to Liverpool Street station.   A key change will be to increase the number of retail outlets within the 340,000 square foot building, reflecting a greater demand for shopping and leisure outlets from the City's workers.

Europe’s tallest modular tower rises at Wembley

The last offsite unit in Europe’s tallest modular tower has been lifted into place in north London.

The 29-storey student accommodation scheme is being developed by Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems in a fast-track time of just 12 months.  These form over 580 rooms that will be ready for students to move into in September. The development will also include communal facilities, such as a cinema, and an outdoor courtyard.

Go-ahead for £250m “triple towers” in Liverpool

Developer Elliot Group has secured planning permission for its £250m ‘triple towers’ residential project on the northern edge of Liverpool’s business district.  The £250m development is the largest single housing project in Liverpool and will offer 1,002 apartments, plus a triple-height luxury spa, gym and pool and more than 10,000 sq ft of commercial space.

Green light for £70m Rochdale Riverside retail and leisure scheme

The scheme will be delivered jointly by Genr8 Developments and Kajima in partnership with Rochdale Borough Council.

Demolition works have already been completed and construction works are scheduled to commence by autumn with the scheme set to open for trade in mid-2019.

£53m St James' retail and leisure development for Dover town centre

£60m Twickenham Station Redevelopment Project

Contractor Osborne is believed to have landed the project to redevelop Twickenham station as part of a double project win for developer Solum.  The scheme will help to ease the Twickenham Station scrum on rugby matchdays. Work is due to start in April.
