SikaSeal Fire Guard Intumescent Acoustic Sealant is a high-performance, one-part, water-based acrylic sealant engineered to provide both fire resistance and sound deadening properties in internal construction joints
Up to 4-Hour Fire Rating: In properly configured joints, it resists the passage of fire, smoke, and hot gases for up to 240 minutes
Intumescent Expansion: When exposed to heat, the sealant swells by more than 150% of its original size. This creates an insulating char barrier that active fire cannot easily penetrate.
It provides excellent soundproofing by sealing minor air gaps, offering an average noise reduction of 24 dB (tested across 100-3150 Hz frequencies)
Permanent Flexibility: It features over 100% elongation (ISO 8339), meaning it will accommodate minor structural movement without cracking or tearing away
No Primer Needed: It adheres easily to most common internal construction substrates (such as masonry, concrete, wood, plasterboard, and metal) without requiring a preliminary primer coat
User Friendly: It is a non-slump paste that is easy to tool, goes tack-free in roughly 15–20 minutes, is low-odour, and is completely overpaintable once fully cured. For use on:
Sealing gaps and joints in internal fire-rated partition walls and structures.
Sound deadening around plasterboard panels.
Sealing service penetrations, trunking, or gaps where cables and pipes pass through fire boundaries.
