As a business, we recognise that every company must play its part in minimising the effects it has on the environment and reducing our carbon footprint. We started our journey towards Net Zero in 2019, measuring our carbon footprint for the first time and becoming the first Carbon Negative supplier in our industry.

We have a number of key initiatives and programmes in place to support us in delivering against our ambition:

Making Every Delivery Green

We are committed to ensuring we make every delivery for our customers as efficient as possible including:

• Consolidating orders and setting bespoke minimum order values to reduce delivery frequency
• Implemented market-leading route planning technology which allows us to optimise routes and reduce vehicle demand
• Introduced a Small Order Charge in a bid to eliminate multiple small deliveries that increase delivery miles and therefore CO2 emissions from deliveries
• Our fleet is Fleet Operator Scheme (FORS) Silver accredited, which means we’re operating our fleet safely and efficiently
• We’ve eliminated plastic packaging tape and replaced it with paper tape
• Reduced the amount of ink printed on our delivery boxes by 70%, ensuring our delivery boxes are 100% recyclable
• Replaced all plastic packaging with recyclable paper options
• We continue to engage with our suppliers to source alternative packaging solutions that are recyclable and reusable

Greener Reporting

Our Greener reporting dashboard provides our customers with a single reporting tool to monitor and report on social and environmental impact data associated with the delivery of a contract. Through our Greener reporting dashboard, we can report to customers at an organisation, site or individual user level:

• Carbon emissions associated with deliveries
• Average order value
• Sustainable products spend
• Recycling and emissions savings data through our PPE and Closed Loop Recycling schemes
• As well as Social Value data associated with the delivery of a contract such as volunteering hours, charity donations and social enterprise spend

Waste Management & Recycling

We're dedicated to actively managing and minimising the waste generated throughout our operations. Through a longstanding partnership with ACM, a leading waste management company, we ensure a comprehensive approach to waste management. This collaboration enables us to divert 100% of our waste from landfills by prioritising recycling and, when necessary, converting waste to energy.
